- Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours of the same species becomes a live cell, as if by reproduction.
- Different species do not interact with each other.
- Any dead cell of species 2 adjacent to a live cell of species 2 has an 8% chance of becoming a live cell of species 2.
- All other live cells of species 2 live on to the next round.
- A live cell of species 2 which is adjacent to a live cell of species 1 has a 10% chance of becoming a live cell of species 1.
